It’s hard not to forget anything when you create a new website. You need to research a niche, competitors, optimize tags, keywords, and wisely plan time for tasks. In this article I will tell you and show you how to promote your site and not spend your whole life on it.
Promote the site Step 1: make a list of tasks.
To do everything clearly, make a step-by-step list of tasks. Use Google Sheets, Planners, or dedicated seo services. For example, you can create checklists for different seo jobs in the Serpstat platform.

Google My Business (GMB) is a free service for local search, map and other Google services. If you have a physical address, indicate the exact coordinates and fill in the categories so that the search engine shows the site for relevant queries. If you are organizing children’s parties, do not create the category “event-agency”, but select “organizing children’s parties”.
Create a profile in GMB, Google Analytics and Google AdWords for one mail. Thus, you synchronize information in all services and get a detailed report.
Yandex.Directory is an alternative to GMB for Yandex. The service also places businesses on the map and sorts them into categories. Basic features are free, but if you want to rank first in local search, use paid access.
Step 3. Analyze your competitors.
At the start of promotion, you need to analyze your competitors in order to introduce all their best features into your strategy. Check out the semantic core, content and design. Find out from which sources and devices they get the bulk of their traffic.
To find competitors, enter niche queries in Google and Yandex. For high-frequency phrases, the search engine will show leaders, and for low-frequency phrases – competitors who have specifically optimized the site for a specific request.
Create a table and enter information about competitors’ sites, keywords and chips into it.
Not all SERP results are your direct competitors. Therefore, in order to explore the niche in detail, open the Domain Analysis module in Serpstat, the SEO analysis section, Competitors.
Sort competitors by visibility and relevance. Select those whose value is as close as possible to yours, enter them in the table.
Go to each site and study: in which region it operates, how the support service communicates with customers. If it’s an online store, check the product categories. Compare them to yours and determine where you are losing. For online stores, the rule works – the more pages with products, the higher the traffic.

It is difficult to find out the age of the site, it is easier to check the age of the domain. To do this, use Whois services. They show the basic public legal information about the domain and the date of its registration. “Naked” pages of all more or less popular sites are stored in WebArchive.
Check the link between landing pages and child pages. For example, the home page of a site with 15,000 categories will be more relevant than the same one, but with 5th.
Consider your site structure to make it easier for search engines to crawl and increase relevance. If competitors have the same categories as yours, but they have customized subcategories, filters and product classes, then they will be higher in the search.
The position in the search results is also influenced by the time that the user spends on the site, how many clicks he makes and whether he returns to the search. This information can be easily viewed in the SimilarWeb plugin.
Compare the semantic core of your site and your closest competitors to find out which keywords they use in their campaign and you don’t. Open the Domain Analysis module in Serpstat and go to the SEO Analysis, Domain Comparison section, enter your competitors’ domains.
In order not to miss out on important phrases, check which keywords both competitors have, but you don’t. To do this, click on the number in the Unique column.
Promote your site step 4: Increase your link growth.
High-quality links to the site increase the trust of search engines. The level of trust directly affects the visibility and position in the search. The whitest way to get quality backlinks is through guest posts.
If you write for external sites and attract authors, you get high-quality links. Sites link to you, and the author is repost and help in the promotion of their texts.

Configure lazy loading Java Scripts.
